Cherthala: A song sung by 11 year old Jayalakshmi and promoted through youtube has given rise to a star at the national level.

Born at Pallippuram village to ex-serviceman Jayakumar and Preetha, this gifted sixth standard student at Cherthala Govt. Girl’s Higher Secondary School has been learning music from a young age.

The hit song by none other than Latha Mangeshkar, “Sathyam Sivam Sundaram” was video recorded by her mother using mobile phone and was shown to her Guru Pallipuram Manoj.

The Guru found it very interesting and promoted it through youtube. The rest is ever memorable for Jayalakshmi as original singer of the song Lataji reportedly commented upon the girl’s voice and singing style.

More over Zee TV has invited the girl to perform in a special program and she and her family had already gone to Delhi for recording.

There is an exciting offer from Zee TV that they will try arrange a meeting for Jayalakshmi with the music queen Latha Mangeshkar.

Also, famous singers Sankar Mahadevan and Anuradha Podwal have called and passed on good wishes to the young talent.

Jayalakshmi, who started learning music under Pallippuram Sunil, has already performed on many stage shows and has sung for music albums also.
